Odoo Online is excellent. It just wasn't built for Brazil's tax reality.
Odoo Online (SaaS) runs Odoo's standard apps only and does not accept third-party modules. That keeps the platform simple, but leaves out everything a Brazilian company needs to actually operate: NF-e, NFC-e, NFS-e, taxes and withholdings, boletos, Pix, bank remittance and return files.
The localization maintained by Odoo in Brazil (Curitiba) is based on the Avalara service. It is a valid path, but with limits: it does not cover every tax scenario, it depends on an external service with its own per-document cost, and it does not solve the full financial process inside Odoo.
That is exactly the gap Edoo has been filling for over a decade. That is why Odoo itself refers Brazilian customers to us.
What usually blocks Odoo Online in Brazil
- Tax documents: issuing and receiving NF-e, NFC-e and NFS-e with the rules of each city and state.
- Taxation: ICMS, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, ST, DIFAL, withholding taxes and special regimes.
- Finance: registered boletos, Pix, CNAB remittance and return files, bank reconciliation and payments.
- Custom modules: any adaptation to your process, which Online does not allow you to install.
- Cost: tax service billed per transaction, on top of the subscription.

Your Odoo Enterprise subscription moves from Online to Odoo.sh. License and hosting stay with Odoo, and Edoo publishes the Brazilian modules in your project's repository.

What Odoo Online customers ask most
Will I lose what I already set up on Odoo Online?
No. Odoo Online lets you download the complete database, and we restore it in the new environment. Master data, products, sales history, purchases, inventory and accounting come along.
Do I need to change Odoo version?
Not necessarily. Edoo maintains the localization for versions 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19. We usually keep the version you already use and, if it makes sense, plan the upgrade calmly later.
Does my Enterprise license remain valid?
Yes. The license is Odoo's and remains yours; what changes is the hosting type in the contract (Online, Odoo.sh or On-Premise). We guide the request with Odoo and your account manager.
How long does the migration take?
It depends on your size and the apps in use. The environment switch itself is fast; what sets the timeline is the tax and finance implementation, which we plan together with you in the assessment.
What if I want to stay on Odoo Online?
Then we cannot install our modules, because the format does not allow it. We can still assess your operation and point to the best path. No commitment.
